Chocolate Strawberry Tacos
Ingredients:
1 punnet strawberries
⅓ cup butter
6 tortilla tacos
1 tbsp Date Balsamic Treacle
Zest of 1 orange
1 tbsp orange juice
250ml Pure Cream, whipped
1 tbsp icing sugar (for whipped cream)
1 tsp vanilla paste (for whipped cream)
100g dark chocolate, melted
¼ cup chopped nuts (macadamias or hazelnuts are perfect)
Method:
Melt butter and honey together in a frying pan, then stir in the orange zest. Let it gently simmer.
Dip each tortilla into the syrup, coating both sides, then drape over an oven rack to create taco shells.
Bake at 180°C for around 10 minutes, until golden and crisp. Cool completely.
While they bake, chop your strawberries and macerate them with orange juice and a drizzle of Date Balsamic Treacle.
To assemble:
Dip the edges of your taco shells in melted chocolate, then into chopped nuts (optional but delicious).
Fill with whipped cream, strawberries, and a drizzle of chocolate sauce or hazelnut spread.
Devour immediately!
