At Leaf, everything begins with good food, real food.
Since opening our first store in Elwood in 2007, we’ve been guided by one simple idea: to bring people closer to what they eat and the people who grow it.
We work directly with farmers, growers and makers who share our respect for quality, sustainability and flavour. Every apple, loaf and bunch of herbs tells a story - of soil, season and care.
Our stores are shaped by the communities around them - local families, food lovers and curious cooks who value freshness, provenance and a friendly chat at the counter. We believe great food shouldn’t be complicated; it should be honest, full of life and most importantly, shared.
Over the years, Leaf has grown but our values haven’t changed.
We still rise early to handpick produce from the market. We still celebrate the craft of our suppliers and the beauty of the seasons. And we still believe that food has the power to bring people together.
FROM THE FOUNDER
To me, Leaf has never felt like a business - it’s a way of life. I’ve always seen myself as a custodian rather than a creator. Our customers are the ones who have shaped Leaf into what it is today, and they’ll continue to guide what it becomes.
Most mornings, you’ll find me at the wholesale market before the sun comes up, armed with the longest shopping list imaginable. I spend that time talking with growers and wholesalers, tasting produce, checking quality and freshness, and making sure that what we bring into our stores is genuinely great value. Everything is loaded onto our trucks and arrives in store by 8am - fresh, vibrant and ready for the shelves.
From there, our team of produce professionals takes over, unpacking and preparing each item so you and your families can bring it to life in your own kitchens.
My time at the market and with our suppliers is pure joy. My philosophy is simple: if it’s not good enough for my family, it’s not good enough for our stores. Every piece of produce is chosen with that same care.
